The Willard Hotel Wedding in Washington D.C. : Kelly and Kyle

December is one of my favorite months for weddings. It happens to be the month that I chose to get married in, so I’m a little bit biased, but my reasoning doesn’t end there. December has all the luxury and beauty of the Christmas season, which means that decorations abound at venues and on the street. There are twinkling Christmas lights everywhere, which happen to be some of my favorite backdrops for pictures. You can play Christmas classics during your cocktail hour and dinner (who doesn’t love that?!). And, to top it all off, the whole season really does have an excitement that is incomparable to other times of the year. Kelly and Kyle took full advantage of all of those lovely things about December for their beautiful wedding in Washington D.C at the Willard Hotel. Because they’re also wonderfully sentimental (I love sentimental), they planned their wedding date so that it would fall on Kelly’s beloved grandparents anniversary. And because Kyle knows just how much Kelly’s grandparents meant to her, he even got her a red raincoat for a wedding present, just like Kelly’s grandfather did for his wife so many years ago as he raced off to marry her (he had just come home from the Army). At one point during this wedding, I leaned over to one of the other vendors and told him, “This couple really enjoys each other’s company. It makes me so happy.” And while I have many happy couples, I could see there really was something beautifully special here. Congratulations to Kelly and Kyle! :)
