It’s always a treat for me when I get to work with people I know but this year has been really fun because, for the second time I got to shoot the wedding of a former classmate of mine. Kellie is an absolute sweetheart; I know her from high school and she has always been such a beautiful person, richly deserving of lots of happiness…and she’s found that in Chris! Though I didn’t get a chance to meet Chris before the wedding, I could tell what a special bond these two have and how very much they love each other. Their wedding was lovely and I was so happy to be a part of it — so here are some of my favorites from their day!

Cylburn Arboretum Wedding : Rita and Kevin

Rita and Kevin are the type of couple that make my job a true pleasure. Besides being a happy, loving couple they are so wonderful to work with. They were married in late March on a spectacular day at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen with their reception at Cylburn Arboretum. Surrounded by family and friends, these two couldn’t keep the smiles from their faces or the joy and love for their families from showing at all times. I wish them the very best and tons of happiness!

Centennial Lake Engagement : Rita and Kevin

A couple of days before their wedding in March, I met Rita and Kevin for a quick engagement session at lunch down at Centennial Lake in Columbia. It was a cold, windy day — the type that winter just doesn’t want to let go of once spring hits — but Rita and Kevin couldn’t have been more cheerful! (They were getting in a few days, after all!) Pictures from their beautiful wedding will follow soon, but I figured I would post some from this cute session first!

1840′s Ballroom Wedding in Baltimore : Katie and Mike

To start 2013 official wedding season, I headed over to meet with Katie and Mike for their beautiful wedding at Institute of Notre Dame and 1840′s Ballroom in Baltimore. One of the reasons I was so excited about this wedding is because, though I have shot many former Mount de Sales girls (of which I am one), Katie was the first one from my graduating high school class whose wedding I got to shoot! (Go class of 2000!) Haha, but seriously, it was truly wonderful to work with someone whom I’ve known since I was a teenager. Katie is absolutely gorgeous and looked absolutely stunning on her wedding day to her very best friend, Mike, who is a wonderful guy. I’m so happy for them and was so honored to be a part of their day. Here are some of my favorites (including the first picture I’ve gotten of a groom smashing the cake in his own face, haha):

Mount de Sales Academy Wedding : Catherine and Josh

One of my favorite places to shoot is my alma mater, Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville. The grounds and school building itself are absolutely gorgeous — a photographer’s dream location. What can make the location even more amazing is a couple like Catherine and Josh. Their wedding was on a spectacular September day and picture perfect. Catherine and Josh are such a wonderful and sweet couple, who treat each other with so much love and tenderness that taking their pictures is a snap (no pun intended, if there is one!). The day was just so lovely, filled with so much happiness and smiles from friends and family — and I was so happy to be a part of it. Here are some of my favorites:

Washington D.C. Cherry Blossom Engagements : Jordan and Adam

The thing about Washington D.C. during the Cherry Blossom season is that, while it’s really really beautiful, it is crowded! But get up at the right time and go the right day…and you could strike at incredible views bereft of tourists. So, early one morning three non-morning people (Jordan, Adam, and me) met in D.C. by the Lincoln Memorial for Jordan and Adam’s engagement session. (While not the traditional Tidal Basin views, it’s still quite lovely!) Jordan and Adam are actually only a few weeks away from their wedding and I can’t wait to see them again! They are such a sweet couple, one of my favorites, and it’s been such a wonderful experience working with them so far. So, without further delay, here are a few of my favorites from their really lovely session:

Naval Academy and Historic Londontown Wedding in Annapolis : Margaret and Ryan

Last summer, I had the really amazing privilege of being able to photograph Margaret and Ryan’s wedding at the Naval Academy and Historic Londontown and Gardens in Annapolis, Maryland. This was such a wonderful opportunity for me because I’ve known Ryan most of my life, having met him in first grade, when we were in school together in Miami, Florida. Ryan and Margaret are both officers in the Navy and graduates from the Naval Academy and, because of that, their wedding location couldn’t have been at a better place! It was a gorgeous (and HOT!) day, filled with so much laughter and joy of their friends and family — and I was so happy to be able to capture it. I wish them all the best always.

1840s Ballroom Wedding in Baltimore : Faye and Marcos

As I’ve been prepping blog posts from the past that I need to catch up on, I realized that there was one post that I really needed to get on this blog — that of my dear friend, Faye and her husband, Marcos, who were married…a while ago. But, better late then never and here it is. Faye and Marcos had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the 184o’s Ballroom in Downtown Baltimore. It was a gorgeous (as in totally spectacular) November morning, where the sky was an absolutely gorgeous shade of blue without a cloud in the sky. I was so excited to shoot this wedding, because Faye is one of the sweetest people — she and I met while we were doing our thesis(es) in the Writing Masters at Johns Hopkins a few years ago — and we totally hit it off. I had such a great time getting to know Faye during that time and was so happy for her when I heard she was engaged. Then I met Marcos and I realized what a wonderful and special guy he is and how loving their relationship is. I couldn’t be happier for them and I really do love this pair. :)

Wedding on the Spirit of Baltimore : Beth and Jeremy

Today I bring you one of my favorite surprises from last year : the awesomeness of Beth and Jeremy. Every so often (though not quite as much as in the past anymore), I’ll book a wedding without ever having met or spoken to the couple. Beth and Jeremy are in the the Coast Gaurd and live in Florida so all of our interactions were by email. So, I showed up to their wedding day without knowing who to expect — and I was completely blown away by how incredibly fun and wonderful this couple was. Beth, Jeremy, and their friends and family could not have been more lovely. Speaking of family — check out these dresses(!) — Beth’s mom made all the bridesmaid dresses AND Beth’s wedding dress! (If she isn’t a seamstress for hire, she should be!!) Beth and Jeremy and their wedding party were definitely one of the most fun groups that I had the privilege of taking pictures for last year. They had amazing energy and enthusiasm and I loved every moment I got to cruise around the Baltimore Harbor with them.
