Federal Hill and Harbor East Engagements in Baltimore : Shawn and Ben

Every wedding and love story has its own unique cast of characters and loved ones who make up the lives and support systems of the bride and groom.  As a wedding photographer, I often get the opportunity to grow quite close with my clients and, of course, I get to be there for the biggest day in their lives.  As a result, there’s something bittersweet about the end of the day for me — knowing that a couple whose wedding I’ve been excitedly anticipating will be moving on and I may not get to see them too much in the future.  That’s why I get so excited and so happy when I hear from bridal party members from past weddings. By degrees, I get to carry on documenting the stories of the people around that couple — and the referral threads are often fun to follow. :)

Anyway, I Shawn and Ben are two of those people. I met them, actually, at Kelly and Marcus’ wedding last year, where they were both in the bridal party. So I was thrilled to be able to meet up with them and talk about their wedding photography a few months later and a few weeks ago, I got to shoot their engagement session. We met downtown in Federal Hill in what was our third attempt at a shoot (May weather sometimes gets the better of engagement shoots!).  And even though it ironically started to rain mid-session, Shawn and Ben were amazing to work with and couldn’t have been any better sports. :)  I am really excited for their wedding in July.  In the meantime, here are some of my favorites from their e-session.
