I took a little bit of a blogging hiatus in the fall, meaning my September weddings didn’t get featured. In the next coming weeks, I’ll be posting a “best of” for 2013, but I wanted to try to get the blog caught up to speed before then! (I’ll also be finally blogging some missed weddings and shoots from 2012 this winter, but more on that later.)
When I met with Suki and Shawn, Suki made it very clear that wedding photography was one of the most important parts of their big day. Her enthusiasm for photography was infectious and always something that brings a big smile to my face. Their wedding day in September was quite possibly one of the most beautiful days of the late summer, with gorgeous weather and blue skies. Even though Suki and Shawn don’t consider themselves a very “romantic” couple, I think they did a pretty good job showing their love on camera — don’t you think? :) Actually, one of my favorite shots in here is a really sentimental one: Suki’s family lives overseas and couldn’t make it to the wedding. After the ceremony, someone pulled out an iPhone on FaceTime and Suki got the chance to say hello to her mother on her wedding day. It was a really sweet moment and I was glad to capture it.
