There are few subjects as lovely and inspiring for me to photograph as much as children. I’ll admit, half the time I’m shooting, I sit and wonder if I’ll have even one shot that’s worth it’s salt — maybe because I don’t have any time to spare and check the display (or I’ll risk missing a great capture) — but there’s also the added element that working with children takes a whole skill different skill set. Adults or teenagers will stand still, lower their arms or shoulders or chins as I ask them to, look directly at the camera, not get easily distracted by passing bugs, etc. etc. Kids…not so much. They inevitably remind me of the simple fact that life has so much opportunity and to explore. I’m always so humbled when I load up my pictures and I see that, amazingly, a child being himself provides me with the best images.
